PCA Descriptions

Power PCA
The Power PCA performs the following functions:
z Analog front end for ECG from pads.
z Impedance measurement for Paddle Contact Indicator (PCI) function.
z Generation and control of pacing waveforms as directed by Control
PCA.
z Control of defibrillator functions as directed by the Control PCA:
a. Charging the capacitor to the correct energy level.
b. Delivering the shock and controlling the waveform.
c. Disarming (discharging) the capacitor.
Parameter PCA
The Parameter PCA performs the following functions:
z Interconnection site for ECG leads cable, ECG out cable and SpO
2
module.
z ECG analog front end for ECG from 3- and 5-lead cables.
z SpO
2
on/off logic and patient isolation.
Keyscan PCA
The Keyscan PCA performs the following functions:
z Interconnection site for:
a. All front panel keys.
b. Energy Select Switch.
c. All front panel LEDs (Sync, Pacer, AC Power, Batt Charge).
d. IrDA interface.
e. EL display data and control signals.
z Detecting and initial processing of front panel key presses.
z Pass through of Energy Select Switch signals.
z Interface for IrDA module (used only in manufacturing at this time).
z Pass through of EL display data and control signals.
z Internal test load for paddle discharge.
