5.6.1 INSTALLATION
Follow the instructions below to install the magnetic stirrer:
• Magnetic stirrer has four (or two – older version) screws positioned on each side of the inner holder as shown
with blue arrows in Fig. 33.
• Position the stirrer with the inner side towards the PBR front window by positioning the screws on the inner side
of the stirrer as shown in Fig. 34.
• Connect the AUX cable (Fig. 32) to AUX1 connector on the back of the Photobioreactor (Fig. 35A,B) and the
opposite end of the cable plug into the AUX IN on front side of the power supply (Fig. 35C).
• In case there is no sufficient size of AUX connectors on the rear panel of the Photobioreactor for an additional
device (see Chapter 3.4 and 3.5) it is possible to use AUX OUT connector on the front side of magnetic stirrer
control unit for this purpose.
• Important note: Please note that the communication connection scheme with the PBR FMT150 varies depending
on the complete set-up of the system. Please refer to page 22 Fig. 10 for schematic representation of different
connection set ups based on the system composition.
• Connect control unit via power supply to the mains electricity.
• Insert the stirring bar inside the Photobioreactor cultivation vessel during cuvette assembly as described on page
26.
• The function of the stirrer can be controlled manually by the front panel of the control unit and remotely via PBR
control software for PBR FMT150.
• For manual operation via front panel please refer to chapter 7.1 on page 62 for more details. Briefly go to menu
Setting > PWM_Mode. Here the stirrer can be turned ON/OFF and its speed can be adjusted in percentage of
total power (10 % low power, 100 % high power) as shown in Fig. 35E.
• For setting via PBR control software refer to Photobioreactor software manual.
