Confirm
that
the
recorder
prints
the
message
SYNC
TEST
200
JOULES
DELIVERED
and
the
sync
markers
are
clearly
visible
on
each
R
wave
on
the
printed
ECG
trace.
Confirm
that
the
SYNC
MODE
display
and
SYNC
pushbutton
LED
are
off,
and
no
sync
markers
are
visible.
Disconnect
the
patient
cable
from
the
ECG
simulator
and
disconnect
the
defibrillation
cable
from
the
adapter
test
load
connectors.
Connect
the
test
paddles
to
the
ends
of
the
defibrillation
cable.
Short
together
the
RA
and
LL
leads
of
the
patient
cable.
Set
the
ECG
gain
to
X4.0.
Select
LEAD
II.
Press
RECORD
to
start
the
recorder.
. Confirm that the CRT and recorder baseline noise is less than
3mm p-p.
Select PADDLES electrodes. Short the paddle plates together, wait at
least 10 seconds, and then confirm that the CRT and the recorder
baseline noise is less than 3mm p-p.
Note: The ECG signal that is displayed on the CRT is delayed
approximately 10 seconds before being printed by the recorder.
. Press RECORD to turn off the recorder.
. Remove the test paddles from the defibrillation cable and connect the
ends of the cable to the adapter test load connectors.
2. Press W ENERGY SELECT A and set the energy level to 0).

Press the CHARGE pushbutton.
. Confirm that the CHARGE LED does not light and that the CRT
continues to display O JOULES SELECTED.
Press W ENERGY SELECT to set the selected energy to 200J.
Press CHARGE and confirm that the front panel LED flashes during
the charge cycle. If using the Shock Advisory Adapter, the charge
LED on the adapter should also flash.
. Confirm that the LEDs remain on and a tone sounds when full charge
is reached.
. Simultaneously press both paddle discharge pushbuttons to transfer
the charge. Confirm that the CHARGE LEDs are off and the recorder
prints the message TEST 200 JOULES DELIVERED.
. Press LEAD SELECT to select PADDLES lead.
Attach the ends of the defibrillation cable to the ECG simulator
(APEX on LL, STERNUM on RA) and confirm that a positive-going
QRS complex is visible on the CRT.
. Disconnect the defibrillation cable from the ECG simulator.
