8.9 Write/program transponder key
8.9.1 Program permissions
In the web application you can read the permissions for the transponder key (under
Transponder -> Data) and write permissions for the transponder key (under Transponder
-> Permissions -> Programming).
You have the option to adopt the same permission for all device groups (default setting) or
to assign a different permission for each of the 32 device groups (uncheck Apply to all).
You also have the option to lock the permissions on the transponder key, thereby prevent-
ing the permissions being changed at a later date.
NOTICE
Please note:
Once a transponder key has been locked, no changes can be made
to the group permissions.
The lock cannot be cancelled.
If you have set a basic identifier, the transponder key will also be automatically taught in to
the basic coding of the PITreader when writing/programming the permissions.
8.9.2 Configure the validity of the transponder key
You can limit the validity of transponder keys to a certain time period. To do this go to Con-
figuration -> Settings -> Function, activate Evaluate validity date and set the valid time
zone. The selected time zone is only used to evaluate the validity date.
You can enter a start date and an end date for the validity of the transponder key (in the
format day, month, year "DD.MM.YYYY") under Transponder -> Permissions.
8.9.3 Teach in transponder key to basic coding
If you are using an unlocked transponder key and have set a basic coding, you can teach in
the transponder key to basic coding under Transponder -> Permissions -> Program.
If you are using a locked transponder key or a transponder key that Pilz has pre-pro-
grammed in the factory and you have set a basic identifier, you can teach in the transpon-
der key to the basic coding under Transponder -> Data -> Teach in transponder.
You can change the basic coding by teaching in the transponder key to a different basic
coding. You can remove the basic coding by rewriting the permissions on the transponder
key on a PITreader without a set basic coding.
