Ether232Plus User Guide 4 Configuring the Serial Port Settings
02-CML000057 Precidia Technologies Inc. 29
To set or change the Connection Control:
1 Choose
Serial Port
from the Device Settings menu.
2 Choose
Connection Control
from the Serial Port Settings sub-menu.
You are prompted to enter a connection control type, as shown below.
3 Type the letter that corresponds to the desired option and press
Enter
.
4.5 Terminal Type (Telnet Protocol Only)
If you select Telnet in the Protocol setting, you can enter the type of terminal you are
using. If the Terminal Type is unknown, this parameter may be left at (unset). The
telnet server will set a default type, but it is more effective to set it yourself. If the
terminal type is incorrect, the full screen telnet applications will not work properly.
To enter or change the Terminal Type (Telnet only):
1 Choose
Serial Port
from the Device Settings menu.
Modem
Enables the Ether232Plus to act as modem to a device connected to
its serial port. The Ether232Plus processes a superset of the standard
Hayes command set, including the ability to answer, dial, and origi-
nate a connection. FTP and HTTP are supported with extended AT
commands.
For implementation notes and a description of supported commands,
see the Modem Connection Control Help Guide at
http://www.precidia.com/products/documentation.html.
