1.2 Features
System board
The features of the system board (D1570) are described in the technical manual
for the system board in relation to the hardware and in the „D1570 Setup Utility
for RX200“ (see “Related Publications” on page 69).
Hard disk drives
The server can accommodate up to three ULTRA 160-SCSI hard disk drive
modules.
Each hard disk drive module (HDD module) can accommodate a SCSI hard
disk drive with an SCA (Single Connector Attachment) interface and a maximum
height of 1 inch. The module is connected to the SCSI backplane without cables
via the SCA interface. This allows hard disk drive modules to be simply plugged
in or pulled out (for further details see section “Hot-Swap HDD Modules” on
page 47).
For operating the hard disk drives an 1-channel PCI RAID controller (Ultra160
SCSI) is available.
In a corresponding RAID configuration the HDD modules can be exchanged
during operation (hot-swap).
Accessible drives/components
Two mounting locations are available:
– one location with a 3.5 inch slimline floppy disk drive (1.44 MB)
– one location for a slimline CD-/DVD-ROM drive (optionally)
The accessible drives integrated in this locations cannot be replaced during
operation.
LocalView (option)
Instead of the floppy disk drive, a LocalView module can be installed in the
3.5 inch location.
