3. Technical Description of your Industrial Power Corruptor
3.1 General description
3.1.1 Theory of Operation
Your IPC is a transformer-based disturbance generator. It
contains an autotransformer with multiple taps, and an extensive
series of switches (electromechanical and Insulated Gate
Bipolar Transistors).
Some of the switches select the correct tap on the
transformer
, and some of the switches connect the transformer
between the appropriate input and output terminals. The
IGBT’s provide precision timing (to 100 microseconds) for the
critical switching at the beginning and end of the event.
