The cast frame
divides the enclosure into three main compartments mutually screening the
Pyecall function module (if fitted), the transmitter-receiver (less combined oscillator) and the
combined transmitter and
receiver oscillator. A sub-compartment isolates the antenna filter. A
recess on the front
edge of the frame houses the Module Extractor Tool. The Mother Board
(secured to the frame by
M3 x 8 mm screws — 11 off) together with daughter boards which plug
into the Mother Board,
accommodate the wiring and circuitry. Where necessary test points are
provided on the upper
edges of the daughter board concerned.
To provide maximum
heat dissipation, the Transmitter P A and the Receiver
AF heatsinks
are bolted to pedestals
formed on the frame walls, the High Power Modulator and 10V Regulator
modules
are bolted
to
the frame.
