In the PLI test utility, all of the PLI RTDs assigned to the current circuit will be displayed on this screen. The temperatures will appear
as the values are being read during the test process. Along with the temperature, the last update will appear to the right. This
timestamp shows the time when the last communication occurred between the UIT3 and the PLI module.
Below the temperatures is the Start button which will initiate the test. After the test has started, pressing this button again will stop
the test.
Below the button is an input box for the number of test cycles the utility will perform. You can change this to what is required for your
specific test.

Fig. 3.27 An unswitched PLI-TT Circuit Test in Progress
Using this utility on an unswitched circuit will configure the UIT3 to continuously poll the PLI approximately every second. With
a theoretical maximum time of 11 minutes between SES/SPC transmission times, 660 test cycles should result in SES/SPC
temperatures being reported if there are no errors or issues with communication.
TT sensors, on the other hand, will each sequentially report their temperatures to the PLI. Therefore, TTs should always report a
temperature for each test cycle.

If the tester utility is used on a switched circuit, the UIT3 will force the controlling relay on to power
the sensors.
If the circuit is using SES/SPC sensors and is already on, the UIT3 will switch the circuit off and then immediately back on to force the
SES/SPC sensors to report their temperatures. This will occur every test cycle. The time required for each cycle will depend on the
SES/SPC address numbers on the circuit since each sensor will report their temperatures at a specific time after power up based on
its address. A countdown timer will be displayed to indicate when the next test cycle will occur.
If TT sensors are being used, temperatures will be updated on the UIT3 every second after the circuit is forced on.
