Delay Time/Speed
The Power-On-Time-To-Talk is used to define the Delay Time between turning on external power
and trying to talk to the modem (regardless of whether it is an internal or external modem). If
the internal modem is used, or no modem is attached, the init string is not sent. On alert callouts,
power is automatically applied, and the system waits the delay time before sending an alert. This
is done to provide for a configuration which uses a phone system which needs external power.
The modem Speed is used to set the modem port and baud rate. This is true whether an internal,
external or no modem is used. If an external modem is used, and the speed is changed, the user
needs to hang up to force the “power” window to be shut-down and re-established so that the
init string is resent.
Select the Apply button to send the modem parameters.
