6.6.3 LD SAFETY SWITCH
To ensure technician and user safety and to prevent the laser beam from inadvertently
switching on during servicing, safety switches are located at the front and right covers. The
switches are installed on the +5VLD line coming from the power supply unit through the
BCU and IPU boards.
When the front cover or the right cover is opened, the power supply to the laser diode is
interrupted.
