6.11.8 PAPER SIZE DETECTION
Paper Tray 1, Paper Tray 2
The three paper size sensors [A] (SN1, SN2 and SN3) interact with notched actuators [B]
on a movable wheel. The actuators move when the paper end fence [C] is adjusted for the
loaded paper. The readings of these three sensors are used with the reading of the side
fence sensor [D] to determine the paper size. The combination of these four readings is
sent to the CPU to determine the size of the paper loaded in the tray.
The table below shows how the machine uses the on or off signals from the sensors to
determine a paper size.
