Correcting  Brightness and Contrast (Level Compensa-
tion)
You can correct the brightness and contrast of taken still images.
1  Display the image to correct in playback mode, and then press 
the MENU/OK button.
The [Playback] menu appears.
2  Select [Level Compensation], and then press the $ button.
3  Select [Auto] or [Manual], and then press the $ button.
The original image is displayed on the top left, and the corrected image on 
the right.
If you select an image that cannot be corrected, an error message appears 
and then the [Playback] menu reappears.
When [Auto] is selected, proceed to Step 6.
4  Press the ADJ. lever to switch the 
histogram points.
The points at the left side, center, and right 
side are switched.
The histogram indicates the number of pixels 
on the vertical axis, and the shadows, mid-
tones, and highlights from left to right on the 
horizontal axis.
If the Fn2 button is pressed while this screen 
is shown, an explanation of the operations 
appears. If the Fn2 button is pressed again, the previous screen reappears.
5  Press the #$ buttons to make point adjustments.
6  Press the MENU/OK button.
A message appears to indicate processing is being performed, and then the 
corrected image is saved as a new image.
