CPM Down Control
This machine employs several CPM down modes to maintain the quality of printed images and to
optimize and protect the operation of the machine.
High-Temperature CPM Down
When the fusing NC sensor detects a rise in temperature on the fusing sleeve belt, the productivity is
reduced to suppress the change in temperature. The temperature at the fusing NC sensor is sampled
every 0.1 sec., and then the CPM down level is adjusted based on the detected temperature.
The CPM down levels are described below.
Low-Temperature CPM Down
If the fusing lamps cannot keep pace with the print job and are unable to maintain the target fusing
temperature, throughput is lowed down to make it easier to maintain the target temperature.
The temperature of the fusing thermopile is sampled every 0.1 seconds.
• The level is lowered one level if the detected temperature is below the target threshold
temperature.
• The level is raised one level if the detected temperature is above the target temperature.
• The paper type, paper thickness, and current ambient temperature determine the down rate
applied to the line speed.
