Chapter 4 Security Options
Disable/Enable the SD Card with a MSG Instruction
1. Add a MSG instruction to your program.
This message only has to execute once, it does not need to execute with
every program scan.
2. Configure the Configuration tab on the Message Configuration dialog
box as follows:
- To Enable: set source tag value to 0
- To Disable: set source tag value to 1
3. On the Communication tab, configure the Path. See Configure the MSG
Communication Path on page 41.
IMPORTANT • These values are stored to NVS memory in such a way that the MSG
instruction is not required to execute each time the controller powers up.
• You cannot add a MSG instruction to your program if the controller
keyswitch is in Run mode, or if the FactoryTalk Security settings deny
this editing option.
