SamplingWhatYouPreviouslyPlayed(SKIP-BACKSAMPLING)
Youcansamplewhatyouplayedupto25secondsagousingtheskip-backsamplingfunction,whichworksevenifyou
hadnʼtstartedsampling.
Thisletsyou“gobackintime”tosampleapassageyouplayedwellduringrepeatedpractice,ortosampleaphrase
youplayedwellwhenyouwerejustimprovising.
Skip-backsampling:howitworks,andwhatitsrestrictions
are
Skip-backmemoryrecordsupto25secondsofaudio.Anythingrecordedmorethan25secondsagoiserased,
andcanʼtbepreviewedorsampled.
Theskip-backmemoryaudiostartsandpausesrecordingaccordingtothesettingoftheAutoTrigLevel
parameter.WhentheinputaudiosignalexceedsthelevelsetintheAutoTrigLevelparameter,skip-back
memorystartsrecording.WhentheinputaudiosignalfallsbelowthelevelsetintheAutoTrigLevelparameter
foratleastthreeseconds,skip-backmemoryrecordingispaused.
Skip-backmemoryisnotrecordingifthe[MARK]buttonisnotblinking,andthuscanʼtbepreviewedor
sampled.Ifyoupressthe[MARK]buttonatthistime,themessage“NoSKIPBACKTriggerData”isshown.
Playbackasampleorpattern,orswitchthe[EXTSOURCE]buttononandplaytheinstrumentthatʼs
connectedtothisunit.
Whentheunitdetectsanaudiolevelatoraboveacertainlevel,theunitbeginsrecordingtoskip-back
memory(whichisusedonlyforsamplingpastaudiosignals).Atthistime,the[MARK]buttonblinks.

After“SKIPBACK...”appears,thewaveformoftheaudioinskip-backmemoryisdisplayed.

“SelectPadToSave”appears.Emptypadstowhichsampleshavenʼtbeenassignedblinkred.
