Span Accuracy
Checking the Span Accuracy
Note: You must use certified calibrated or verified weights to check the span accu-
racy.
It must be established that the weights are traceable to a national standard.
The calibration or verification certificate must indicate the nominal mass value,
the deviation from the nominal value, and the uncertainty of measurement.
The exact value (conventional mass value) for each weight is calculated from
the nominal value and the deviation from the nominal value.
These requirements do not apply if the accuracy of the weight used for check-
ing the span accuracy is at least one digit greater than the display accuracy.
See (page 48) the “Service Specifications Sheets for Master
pro
Balances”
for the required test weight.
Unload the balance and press t to tare
Perform internal span adjustment (LP see page 14) / (LA see page 24) .
After performing span adjustment, center the test weight on the weighing
pan.
Read off the weight at stability and compare it to the tolerance limits listed.
If the resulting value exceeds the tolerance limits, you need to perform ex-
ternal span adjustment and then overwrite the internal calibration weight
(LP see page 15 / LA see page 25, “Overwriting the Internal Calibration
Weight”).
