Contactors CP Series – Installation and Maintenance Instructions
8.4.8 Connecting the optional pre-
charging contactor (CPP)
A separate installation and maintenance
manual is available for CPP contactors.
Also refer to this separate manual C45-m.

The cables for the optional CPP must be tted with ap-
propriate ring terminals (for M5 terminal screws).

Route the cables (3) to the contact terminals (2) of
the CPP (1).
X
Screw the ring terminals (3) in place using the ter-
minal screws (4) and suitable screw locking ele-
ments.
- Schaltbau recommends using Schnorr washers
(or similar).
X
Tighten the terminal screws (4) to a torque of
4-5Nm.
With 600 A devices only.
X
Connect an earthing cable (6) to the earth termi-
nal which is provided on the mounting ange of
the CPP.
X
Screw the ring terminal of the earthing cable (6)
in place using the terminal screw (7) and suitable
screw locking elements.
- Schaltbau recommends using Schnorr washers
(or similar).
X
Tighten the earth terminal screw (7) to a torque of
4-5Nm.

8.4.9 Connecting the optional high-
voltage discharging contact (CPD)
The cables for the optional CPD must be tted with ap-
propriate ring terminals (for M5 terminal screws).

Route the connecting cables (3) to the contact ter-
minals (2) of the CPD (1).
X
Screw the ring terminals (3) in place using the ter-
minal screws (4) and suitable screw locking ele-
ments.
- Schaltbau recommends using Schnorr washers
(or similar).
X
Tighten the terminal screws (4) to a torque of
4-5Nm.
