Contactors CP Series – Installation and Maintenance Instructions
Maintenance
NOTICE
Detent-edged rings and detent-edged washers have
a limited life time. After 3 times opening of screws
secured with detent-edged rings or detent-edged
washers, the rings or washers must be replaced by
new ones.
X Record the frequency of screw opening in the
work log.
X After 3 times opening of screws, replace detent-
edged rings or detent-edged washers by new
ones.
9.2.2 Regular check activities
All of the maintenance activities that may be carried out
on the contactors by skilled personnel are listed below:
Component Visual inspection Measures
High voltage cables
or busbars
Check for:
X dirt
X damage or wear
X corrosion
X broken cables, ring terminals
X damaged insulation
X damaged busbars
X kinked or crushed cables
X loose or missing fastening elements
X correct torque of the terminal screws
In case of faults:
X remove any existent dirt
X replace damaged cables or ring terminals
immediately
X remove corrosion and replace corroded
parts
X replace damaged busbars immediately
X tighten loose fastening elements and
replace missing fastening elements im-
mediately
X tighten the terminal screws with the
rated torque
Earthing cable/strap
and ring terminal
Check for:
X dirt
X damage or wear
X corrosion
X broken cable/strap, ring terminals
X damaged insulation
X kinked or crushed cable/strap
X loose or missing fastening elements
X correct torque of the earthing terminal screw
In case of faults:
X remove any existent dirt
X replace a damaged earthing cable/strap
or damaged ring terminals immediately
X remove corrosion and replace corroded
parts
X tighten loose fastening elements and
replace missing fastening elements im-
mediately
X tighten the earthing terminal screw with
the rated torque

Check for:
X loose or missing fastening elements
In case of faults:
X tighten loose fastening elements and
replace missing fastening elements im-
mediately
X x a loose contactor
