17. CALIBRATION
OF THE ULTRA-
SONIC WIDTH
SENSOR (IF IN-
STALLED)
Used to calibrate the ultrasonic sen-
sor located on the wheel guard pipe
(width). It must be performed when the
machine requests it by displaying the
E4 message, or when the measured and
the actual rim widths differ.
Proceed as follows to recall this pro-
gramme:
• press the key
• use the keys to search
for GAU CAL
• press the key to perform
calibration, proceeding as follows:
1. The machine will display the follow-
ing message:
• CAL on the left display
• E flashing on the right display
2. fix the calibration template in line with
the threaded hole on the shaft assem-
bly bell, using the M8 screw (A, fig.29)
supplied with the ultrasonic sensor;
3. use the wheel ring nut to bring the
template into contact with the shaft
assembly bell (fig.29);
4. press the key to confirm the
securing of the template;
5. Once confirmed, the message “CAL
rot” is shown on the display
