3.3 User-defined variables
3.3.1 User-defined variables – List view
Function description
User-defined variables permit values to be processed that were created by the user
in SINUMERIK-Integrate configured logic. These values are defined as user-
defined variables so that they can be addressed in the downstream logic.
The "stop watch" is a user-defined variable. The stop watch permits a time to be
measured that can be started and stopped with any signals. The same signal can
be used for both the start and the stop. The measured time is recorded as a time
series (variable monitor). It can automatically be checked against limit values. A
variable monitor must be set up for this. Any variable can be used for the start and
stop signals. If a PLC variable is used in the S7 syntax (not OPC), the determined
time cycle is exact to the millisecond. The maximum repeat frequency for a
subsequent stop should lie in the higher double-digit seconds range.
