Connectivity
Overview of Connectivity
The ACUSON Freestyle includes the DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine)
networking capability. DICOM communications comply with the DICOM standard and provide
links between the system and DICOM picture archival systems (PACS), modality worklist
servers, and storage commitment servers.
Consult with your PACS Administrator when using the DICOM features of the ACUSON
Freestyle.
NOTE: Conrm compatibility between your DICOM PACS system and the ACUSON
Freestyle before archiving from the ACUSON Freestyle to the PACS system.
System conguration for connectivity are usually carried out by your organization’s network or
PACS Administrators.
Connectivity features may be options which are not provided on every system.
Conguring the Network Settings
To congure your system for connectivity, go to SETUP / SETTINGS / NETWORK. This takes you
to the Network page.
Ethernet Setup
This denes the network identication of the system, using the IP address, Subnet Mask and
Gateway to give the ACUSON Freestyle a unique identier on a specic network.
Check the Auto IP Enabled box to enable the IP address to be assigned on startup.
Ethernet Network Conguration Fields
Network Field Description
IP Address When checked allows the system to automatically obtain an IP
Address.
Auto IP Enabled Automated IP address assignment.
Subnet Mask IP address formatting.
Gateway Network access point.
[OK] Saves the settings for the network.
[Cancel] Closes the menu without saving settings.
To edit the IP Address, Subnet Mask, or Gateway, click on the typewriter symbol next to the
eld.
NOTE: The MAC address displayed cannot be edited.
