tests the connection across the network; C-Echo additionally tests that
the DICOM server is active.
For security reasons, some network and network servers are set up
not to respond to Ping or C-Echo commands. Check with your IT
department or PACS Administrator to determine how your network
handles these functions.
NOTE: If you enable Storage Commitment but your DICOM server does not support
this feature, the system will not perform the Storage Commitment function.
It can take several minutes for the Storage Commitment Server to respond to a storage
commitment request. During that time, any other transfers that have been lined up will
continue.
