5 Then dry the skin with a paper towel.
6 Use a suitable gel to prepare the skin for better signal transmission.
Finding the best position for the electrodes is a matter of trial and
error. ( Page 95 Description)
Patients with an offset heart axis (e.g. dilatative cardiomyopathy)
may require a different orientation than parallel to the spine.
1 Check the expiration date of disposable electrodes and order new
ones if necessary.
2 Pull the protective foil off the electrodes and attach them.
3 Use the application cushion and position it together with the PERU
on the patient. ( Page 94 Attaching the PERU)
4 Connect the electrode clips of PERU to the ECG electrodes.
◆ Perform the examination. See: Software operator manual
The signal intensity is indicated on the table display for each ECG
channel by stars (max. 5 stars).
For example, a maximum signal intensity of ECG channel I and a low
signal intensity of channel II are shown as follows:
◾ I: *****
◾ II: *
1 Check to see if the leads show a preferably pronounced R-wave in
the dialog box Physiological display or in the PMU display.
2 Ensure that at least 2 stars are shown on one ECG channel (l or II)
of the table display. The other ECG channel must show at least 1
star.
3 If you are using the mMR Body, position it over the heart. Connect
the coil and secure it with the belts. See: Coil operator manual.
4 Wait at least 10 heart beats (learning phase for triggering) before
you move the patient table into the magnet.
