Pulse triggering
Description
Pulse triggering uses the patient's pulse to trigger the measurement.
A pulse sensor is connected to the patient's toe or finger. The first
pulse wave (“premature pulse wave”) is used for triggering. This wave
corresponds to the systolic blood pressure.
A number of special sequences support retrospective gating.
Performing
1 Ensure that the cable is not bent.
2 PPU version 1: When attaching the pulse sensor to a finger, attach
the sensor so that the exit side of the light is located under the
finger.
3 PPU version 2: Attach a suitable finger adapter and attach the pulse
sensor to a finger or on a toe.
4 When using the pulse sensor on a toe, ensure that the exit side of
the light is located on the underside of the toe.
5 Ensure that the pulse sensor is attached properly.
