Addressing digital electronic modules
Introduction
The addressing of the digital electronic modules is described below. You need the addresses
of the channels of the digital electronic module in the user program.
Addresses of the digital electronic modules
The address of an input or output of a digital electronic module is composed of the byte
address and the bit address. The channels of the digital electronic modules are assigned bit
addresses.

You read the bit address from the module
When you insert a digital electronic module into a free slot, STEP 7 assigns a default
address. You can change the proposed default address in STEP 7.
