Protocol parameters
You can only set the protocol parameters if you have not set the default values in the protocol.

Parameter Description Value Range Default Val‐
ue
Character delay
time
The character delay time denes the permis‐
sible maximum interval between two in‐
coming characters in a message frame.
20 ms to 65530 ms in 10 ms increments
The shortest character delay time depends
on the baud rate:
220 ms
• 300 bps
• 600 bps
• 1200 bps
• 2400 to 15200 bps
• 60 ms
• 40 ms
• 30 ms
• 20 ms
Acknowledge‐
ment delay time
(ADT)
The acknowledgment delay time denes the
maximum amount of time permitted for the
partner's acknowledgment to arrive during
connection setup (time between STX and
partner's DLE acknowledgment) or release
(time between DLE ETX and partner's DLE
acknowledgment).
20 ms to 65530 ms in 10 ms increments
The shortest acknowledgment delay time
(ADT) depends on the baud rate:
2000 ms
(550 ms

block check)
• 300 bps
• 600 bps
• 1200 bps
• 2400 to 15200 bps
• 60 ms
• 40 ms
• 30 ms
• 20 ms
Connection at‐
tempts
This parameter denes the maximum num‐
ber of attempts the CP 440 is allowed in or‐
der to establish a connection.
1 to 255 6
Transmission at‐
tempts
This parameter denes the maximum num‐
ber of attempts to transfer a message frame
(including the rst one) in the event of an
error.
