5.4 Installing the oil temperature monitoring device
The PT100 resistance thermometer monitors the oil temperature. The resistance
thermometer is deployed in the hazardous area and in the non-hazardous area.
The position of the resistance thermometer is defined by Siemens AG. The sensor pocket of
the thermometer is installed in the gearbox and closed with a sealing cap.
The sensor is supplied as a mounting kit. The cable glands â‘¡, â‘¢, â‘£ are threaded onto the
sensor cable ⑤.
Functional restriction of the sensor
Note the following:
• Threads, drill holes and sensor ①must be free of any dirt and residues.
• Sensor cable ⑤ must not rotate along when tightening the compression nut ④.
• Sensor ①must be completely (approximately 29 mm) inside the sensor pocket 1476.
• Do not damage cable or insulation.
• Route the supply line with strain relief.
Avoid intense bending, folding and punctual mechanical loads.
Technical specifications of the sensor
• Degree of protection IP68
• 3-wire input
• Supply line of the sensor: S3x22/7-PTFE/PTFE, 0.36 mm
