1.9 Use as prescribed
The products described in this manual, together with software, accessories and options, form a
Numerical Control Unit intended for use in machine tool systems. The products are intended for
use in industrial, light industrial and commercial applications. The products must be installed
and maintained by professionals with sucient knowledge to implement the safety and EMC
measures in accordance with the specications described in this manual and the recognized
state of the art.
You may only use the products in compliance with the following requirements:
• All regulations and directives that are applicable at the place of nal use, especially with
regard to electrical safety, functional safety and electromagnetic compatibility.
• All instructions, notes, technical data and safety information contained in this document and
other supporting documentation.
Before using the products, you must perform a risk assessment of the entire application and
implement appropriate system design measures to ensure the safety of persons, property
and electromagnetic compatibility.
Open-type products (IP20) are intended for installation in operator panels or cabinets which
provide the necessary protection.
Any use other than that expressly permitted is prohibited, and can result in unforeseen
dangers.
1.10 Physical protection against manipulation of the NCU
Authenticity label on the NCU
An authenticity label is attached to all installed NCUs of the SINUMERIK ONE for protection
against hardware manipulation.
You will nd the authenticity label glued between the side panel and the front of the NCU. It
is printed with a hologram structure for security reasons.
