12-8 In an emergency
• The main fuse box is located in the lower center
panel. Fuses are also found in the high-amp
fuse box located behind the cab on the left
frame rail.
• Before checking or replacing fuses, turn the igni-
tion switch to the “LOCK” position and push all
switches to the OFF position.
• If a light fails to illuminate or electrical equipment
does not function, its fuse may have blown.
Check the fuse boxes and replace fuses as nec-
essary.
1 Removal and installation of the main
fuse box cover
1. Pull the bottom of the fuse box cover toward
you to remove it.
2. To install the cover, align and insert the tabs
at the top. Press the bottom of the cover into
place.
2 Removal and installation of the high-
amp fuse box cover
1. Release the clamps and lift the high-amp fuse
box cover straight upward to remove it.
2. To install the cover, place it on the box and press
it straight downward. Align the holes of the
latches with the catches on the box. While
still pressing the cover downward, fasten the
clamps.
CAUTION
When installing the high-amp fuse box cover, be
sure to retain it with the clamps while pressing it
straight downward. Pushing the cover toward
the inside of the vehicle with excessive force
could break it.
