7 Before Starting Work
■ To reduce the risk of personal injury and property damage
from unintentional starting:
– Shut off the engine before inspecting the trimmer /
brushcutter or carrying out any cleaning,
maintenance or repair work. Always shut off the
engine before storing the trimmer / brushcutter, and
any other time it is not in use.
■ Use of parts that are not authorized or approved by STIHL
may cause serious or fatal injury or property damage.
– STIHL recommends that only identical STIHL
replacement parts be used.
■ To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injuries from a loose
or damaged cutting attachment:
– Keep blades sharp.
– Tighten all nuts, bolts and screws after each use.
– Never attempt to repair damaged cutting
attachments by welding, straightening or modifying
the shape. Always replace a damaged cutting

■ Improper storage can result in unauthorized use, damage
to the power tool and an increased risk of fire and other
