N Fit anchor loop of rewind spring (7) over the lug (15).
N Fit the rewind spring (7) in the housing clockwise,
holding it in place at the same time.
N Push the rewind spring (7) fully into its seat in the fan
housing (3).
N Coat the rewind spring (7) with special lubricant.
N Install the rope rotor, @ 10.8.
10.8 Installing the Rope Rotor
WARNING
The rewind spring can pop out and cause serious eye and
hand injuries.
Wear safety glasses and work gloves.
N Coat the starter post (16) with special lubricant.
N Push the rope rotor (8) onto the starter post (16) so
that the loop (arrow) of the rewind spring (7) engages
the recess in the rotor (8).
N Fit the washer (9).
N Fit the pawls (10).
N Lubricate pegs (17) on pawls with multipurpose
grease.
N Fit the spring clip (11) so that its loops (arrows) are
around the pegs (17).
N Install the starter rope,@ 10.9.
10.9 Installing the Starter Rope
N Install the rope rotor, @ 10.8.
WARNING
The rewind spring can pop out and cause serious eye and
hand injuries.
Wear safety glasses and work gloves.
N Thread the starter rope (5) through the grip (4).
N Press the nipple (13) into the grip (4) as far as stop.
N Thread the starter rope (5) through the bushing (18).
N Thread the starter rope (5) through the rope rotor (8).
N Secure the end of the rope (5) with a simple overhand
knot.
N Push the rope (5) into the recess (arrow).
