14.3 Installing Oil Tank Vent Valve
N Insert valve (7) from outside in the crankcase bore
(arrow).
N Use a 6 mm punch to drive home the valve until
distance ‘a’ is 1 mm (0.04 in).
N Fit the side plate, @ 12.3.
N Fill up with oil.
N Close the tank cap.
14.4 Removing the Worm
N Preparations, @ 3.1.
N Open the tank cap.
N Drain the oil tank into a suitable container.
N Remove the chain sprocket cover.
N Remove the clutch, @ 11.2.
N Pull off the worm (1).
14.5 Removing the Oil Pump
N Remove the worm, @ 14.4.
N Take out the screws (2).
N Remove the oil pump (3).
N Remove the sealing ring (5).
14.6 Removing the Hose
N Remove the oil pump, @ 14.5.
N Remove the brake band, @ 13.2.
N Grip the tab of the hose (4) with flat nose pliers and
pull it out together with the pickup body (6).
14.7 Removing Pickup Body from Oil Tank
N Remove the hose, @ 14.6.
N Pull off the pickup body.
14.8 Installing Pickup Body in Oil Tank
N Push the pickup body (6) onto the hose (4) - make
sure it is firmly seated.
N Install the hose (4), @ 14.9.
14.9 Installing the Hose
N Push the hose (4) with pickup body (6) through the
housing bore (arrow).
N Position the hose (4) so that the tab butts against the
guide (arrow).
N Push home the tab as far as stop.
N If the pickup body (6) is not properly positioned in the
oil tank: Use hook 5910 893 8800 to re-position the
pickup body (6).
N Install the brake band, @ 13.3.
N Install the oil pump, @ 14.10.
14.10 Installing the Oil Pump
N Fit the sealing ring (5).
N Coat sealing ring (5) and connector (8) with press
fluid.
N Fit the oil pump (3) so that the connector (8) engages
the hose (4) and face (9) locates against the sealing
ring (5).
N If the original screws (2) are re-used: Coat threads of
screws (2) with Loctite 242.
N Insert and tighten down the screws (2) firmly.
N Install the worm gear, @ 14.11.
