ABS Finishing Tips and Techniques
Tools Required
l Needle-nose pliers
l Various picks and files
l One or more small spatulas
l One or more small chisels
l 120 grit sandpaper
l 320 grit sandpaper
l Random-orbital sander
l Detail sander
l ABS glue
l Super glue
l Hot knife
l Epoxy two-part resin
l Bondo auto body filler putty
l High-build primer paint
l Enamel paint
Removing Supports
1) Use a small spatula or chisel to pry most of the support away from the part.
This minimizes the risk of damage to the part.
2) Use a needle-nose pliers and small picks to remove support material from
areas the spatula cannot reach.
3) Use a file to remove any remaining small bits of support or ooze from the
model.
