Disc operations
During play
Press [t] (backward) or [y] (forward)
on the remote control.
Each press increases the speed of the search. There are five
speeds.
OR
Press and hold [u/t] or [y/i] on
the main unit.
The search speed increases in five steps if the button is held down.
Audio may be heard during fast-forward and rewind.
You can turn this audio off if you want to (DVD and Video CDs only,
a
pages 41–42).
To resume play
Press [q].
If pressed while a DVD or Video CD menu is on the screen, you
may return to the previous menu.

While paused

Press [TIME MODE] on the main unit.
The display change each time the button is pressed.
The displays shown depend on the condition of the player.∗

Track elapsed time / track remaining time / disc remaining time

The disc remaining time, for example, is not shown during random
play, program play, and CD editing.
You can use this feature with Video CD if you cancel playback
control (
