Customising DVD Operation
Basic Operation
Playing DVDs
When you load a DVD it will start to play automatically and pause upon the DVD menu appearing on the
s
creen. This enables you to select from various play options such as different subtitles, trailer and
l
anguage options. The available options depend on the particular DVD. Normally you will need to
navigate around the screen using the PLAY/PAUSE buttons and then press the OK button to select the
required option.

OTE: When not using the DVD function (in stand-by mode or using other modes for a long time),
please press EJECT to take out the disc to protect both the DVD loader and the disc itself.
Play/Pause
Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to pause playback. To resume playback press the PLAY/PAUSE button
again.
Stop
Press the STOP button to stop playback. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to resume playback.
To recommence playback from the beginning press the PLAY/PAUSE button twice.
NOTE: Playback will commence from the exact position where the DVD was stopped, unless the DVD
disc has been removed from the player or the STOP button has been pressed a second time.
Fast Forward/Reverse (FF/FR)
You can fast search the contents of a disc during play.
Press either the FF button to fast forward through the disc or the FR button to fast reverse through the
disc. Each press of the FF button steps through the five available speeds. These are x2, x4, x8, x16 and
x32 normal playback speed. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button at any time during fast forward or fast
reverse to return to normal playback speed.
NOTE: During fast forward or backward, the sound may be off.
Skip to the Next/Previous Chapter/Title/Track/File
You can skip to the next chapter/title/track/file during play. Press the NEXT button. Play re-starts at the
beginning of the next chapter/title/track/file each time this button is pressed.
To skip back to the previous chapter/title/track/file press the PREV button. Press the PREV button once
to skip back to the start of the current chapter/title/track/file and repeatedly to skip back to previous
chapter/title/track/file.
Note: For DVD discs, the above functions may vary due to different DVD disc structures.
Special Functions
NOTE: The functions described in the following sections may not be supported on all related/specified
DVD discs. Refer to Disc (e.g. DVD) packaging for details of supported features and availability of
languages and subtitles etc.
Menu (DVD etc.)
To return to the main menu (Root Menu) of the DVD disc while the DVD is playing, press the D.MENU
button. Use the navigation buttons to select and play the highlighted contents.
