9-4. Opening the Lid in Case of Power Failure
WARNING
Never open the lid while the rotor is spinning.
Accidental contact with the spinning rotor may cause a serious injury.
During the run, in the event of a power failure or while turning the power off, the safety
device is activated and does not allow the lid to be opened by conventional means. To permit
unloading even in cases such as a power failure or malfunction, the lid can be opened manually
according to the following procedure after the rotor has stopped spinning.
PUSH
Check the rotor sound and vibration to
ensure that it stands still.
Turn off the power switch and unplug the
instrument from the power outlet.
Insert the hexagon wrench provided into
the hole on the upper left of the front panel
to release the lid lock while lightly pushing
down around the PUSH sticker on the lid.
(See illustration on the right.)
Hold around the PUSH sticker on the lid and
slowly lift it.
If the rotor is in motion when power is returned,
The error code “E7” will appear on the time display with continuous short beeps. The rotor coasts to a
stop and the speed display indicates the actual value. Press the key to stop the alarm buzzer.
Wait until the rotor has come to a complete stop and make sure that the speed display shows “0”. Turn
on the power again and open the lid by conventional means.
It takes about maximum twenty minutes for the rotor to stop.
