7. Connect the battery cable clamps, positive (+) cable first.
8. Tighten any loose connections.
Charging the Battery
WARNING
Charging the battery produces gasses that can explode.
Never smoke near the battery and keep sparks and flames away from battery.
1. Disconnect the machine controller.
2. Inspect the battery for signs of cracking, bulging, leaking, or other damage.

3. Connect the red positive (+) jumper cable
clamp to the positive (+) post
of the battery
in the disabled machine.
4. Connect the other red positive (+) jumper
cable clamp to the positive (+) post of battery
in the service vehicle.
5. Connect the black negative (-) cable clamp to
the negative (-) post of battery
in the service
vehicle.
6. Connect the other black negative (-) cable
clamp to the engine or frame ground on the
disabled vehicle, at least 31 cm (12 inches)
from the failed battery.
