UsingtheRear-wheelSteering
Theswitchfortherear-wheelsteeringisusedtocontrolthe
steeringdirection(leftorright)oftherearwheelsonly.
•Pushtherockerswitchfortherear-wheelsteering(Figure
41)ontherighthalfoftheswitchtoturntherearwheels
totheright(turnleft).
•Pushthisrockerswitchfortherear-wheelsteering(Figure
41)onthelefthalfoftheswitchtoturntherearwheels
totheleft(turnright).
UsingtheUtility-tractionJoystick
Thisjoystickallowsyoutonelyadjustthedirectionandthe
speedofthemachineduringtrenching,plowing,orboring.
WARNING
Toavoidinjury,remainintheoperatorseatto
operatethemachine.
Note:Ifyoudonotremainintheoperatorseat,themachine
willnotmove.
1.Releasetheparkingbrake.
2.Liftuponthelockringthatisatthebottomofthe
joystickhandle(Figure42).

•Movetheleverforward(towardthefrontofthe
machine)tomovethemachineforward(Figure42).

Note:Movethelevercompletelyforwardorrearward
forthemaximumspeed.
4.Releasethelockringandthelever(Figure42).

frictionfromthelockringinordertomaintaina
constantspeed.
5.ReturnthelevertotheNeutralpositiontostopthe
machine(Figure42).
Note:Theground-drivefootcontroloverridesthe
traction-adjustment-controllever.Ifyouusethefoot
pedal,youmustmovethetraction-adjustment-control
levertotheNeutralpositiontoreleasetheoverrideand
returnthelevertonormaloperation.
StoppingtheMachine
WARNING
Jumpingonoroffthemachinecancauseaninjury.
Whenyougetonoroffthemachine,alwaysfacethe
machine,usethehandrailsandsteps,moveslowly.
Thismachinehashydrostaticbraking.Whenyouremove
yourfootfromtheground-drivefootpedalormovethe
utility-tractioncontrolbacktotheNeutralposition,the
machinestops.Alwaysapplytheparkingbrakeafteryoustop
themachineandbeforeyoustoptheengine.
