FillingtheEnginewithOil
1.Removetheoil-llcapfromthevalvecoverbyrotating
thecapandpullingitupward(Figure64).
Note:Useafunnelwithaexiblehosetodirectthe
engineoilintotheengine.
2.Fillthecrankcasewithapproximately15.0L(15.9US
qt)ofthespeciedengineoil;refertoServicingthe
EngineOilandFilter(page47).
3.Installtheoil-llcap.
4.Starttheengine,runitatidleforabout2minutes,and
checkforoilleaks.
Important:Theoilpressuregaugemustindicate
engineoilpressurewithin15secondsafteryou
starttheengine.Ifthereisnoindicationofengine
oilpressurewithin15seconds,shutofftheengine
immediatelytoavoiddamagingtheengineand
checkthattheengineoilleveliscorrect.
5.Stoptheengineandremovethekey.
6.Wait5minutesandchecktheoillevel;refertosteps4
through8inCheckingtheEngine-OilLevel(page25).
7.Installthesidepanel;refertoInstallingtheSidePanels
(page46).
