1.Sitontheoperator’sseatandengagethe
parkingbrake.
2.DisengagethePTOandhigh-owhydraulics(if
equipped)andmovethethrottlelevertotheOFF
position(ifequipped).
3.MovetheshiftlevertotheNEUTRALpositionand
presstheclutchpedal.
4.Ensurethatthehydraulic-liftleverisinthecenter
position.
5.Keepyourfootofftheacceleratorpedal.
6.Rotatethekeyswitchclockwisetostartthe
engine.
Note:Releasethekeyswitchwhentheengine
starts.
Important:Topreventoverheatingofthestarter
motor,donotengagethestarterforlongerthan
15seconds.After15secondsofcontinuous
cranking,waitfor60secondsbeforeengagingthe
startermotoragain.
Engagingthe4-WheelDrive
4-WheelDriveModelsOnly
Toenableautomatic4-WheelDrive,pressthetopof
therockerswitchintothe4X4AUTOposition(Figure
17).

Whenthe4WDswitchison,themachineautomatically
engagesthe4-wheeldriveifthesensordetectsthe
backwheelsspinningfreely.Whenthe4-wheeldrive
isengaged,the4WDswitchlightturnson.
Important:Wheninreverse,themachinedoes
notautomaticallyengagethe4-wheeldrive.
Inreverse,youmustmanuallyengagethe4-wheel
driveusingthe4WDbutton.
Toengagethe4-wheeldrivemanually,pressand
holdthe4WDbuttononthecenterconsolewhilethe
vehicleisinmotionandthe4-wheeldriveengages.
Note:The4-wheeldriveremainsengagedonlyas
longasyouholdthebutton;the4WDswitchdoesnot
needtobeintheAUTOpositiontomanuallyengage
the4-wheeldrive.
DrivingtheMachine
1.Disengagetheparkingbrake.
2.Fullypresstheclutchpedal.
3.Movethegear-shiftlevertorstgear.
4.Releasetheclutchpedalsmoothlywhile
pressingtheacceleratorpedal.
5.Whenthemachinegainsenoughspeed,remove
yourfootfromtheacceleratorpedal,fullypress
theclutchpedal,movethegear-shiftlevertothe
nextgear,andreleasetheclutchpedalwhile
pressingtheacceleratorpedal.
6.Repeattheprocedureuntilthedesiredspeed
isattained.
Important:Alwaysstopthemachinebefore
shiftingtoreversefromaforwardgearorto
aforwardgearfromreverse.
