•Swallowingenginecoolantcancausepoisoning;
keepoutofreachfromchildrenandpets.
•Dischargeofhot,pressurizedcoolantortouching
ahotradiatorandsurroundingpartscancause
severeburns.
–Alwaysallowtheenginetocoolatleast15
minutesbeforeremovingtheradiatorcap.
–Usearagwhenopeningtheradiatorcap,and
openthecapslowlytoallowsteamtoescape.
•Donotoperatethemachinewithoutthecovers
inplace.
•Keepyourngers,handsandclothingclearof
rotatingfananddrivebelt.
•Shutofftheengineandremovethekeybefore
performingmaintenance.

Coolanttype:a50/50solutionofwaterand
permanentethylene-glycolantifreeze.
CAUTION
Iftheenginehasbeenrunning,the
pressurized,hotcoolantcanescapeand
causeburns.
•Donotopentheradiatorcap.
•Allowtheenginetocoolforatleast15
minutesoruntilthereservetankiscool
enoughtotouchwithoutburningyour
hand.
•Usearagwhenopeningthereserve-tank
cap,andopenthecapslowlytoallow
steamtoescape.
•Donotcheckthecoolantlevelatthe
radiator,asthisdamagestheengine;only
checkthecoolantlevelatthereservetank.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.Engagetheparkingbrake.
3.Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
4.Checkthecoolantlevelinsidethereservetank
(Figure53).
Note:Thecoolantshouldbeuptothebottom
ofthellerneckwhentheengineiscold.
