1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.Engagetheparkingbrake.
3.Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
4.Cleantheareaaroundthehigh-ow-lter
mountingarea(Figure73).
5.Placeadrainpanunderthelterandremove
thelter.
Note:Iftheuidisnotgoingtobedrained,
disconnectandplugthehydrauliclinegoingto
thelter.
6.Lubricatethenewlter-sealinggasketandhand
turnthelterontothelterheaduntilthegasket
contactsthelterhead.Thentightenit3/4turn
further.Theltershouldnowbesealed.
7.Fillthehydraulicreservoirwithapproximately15
L(4USgallons)ofhydraulicuid.
8.Startthemachineandrunitatidleforabout2
minutestocirculatetheuidandremoveanyair
trappedinthesystem.
9.Stopthemachineandchecktheuidlevel.
10.Verifytheuidlevel.
11.Disposeoftheuidproperly.
RaisingtheCargoBedin
anEmergency
Thecargobedcanberaisedinanemergencywithout
startingtheenginebycrankingstarterorbyjumping
thehydraulicsystem.
RaisingtheCargoBedusingthe
Starter
Crankthestarterwhileholdingtheliftleverinthe
Raiseposition.Runthestarterfor10seconds,then
wait60secondsbeforeengagingthestarteragain.
Iftheenginedoesnotcrank,youmustremovethe
loadandbed(attachment)toservicetheengineor
transaxle.

CAUTION
Araisedbedfullofmaterialwithouttheproper
safetysupportrodmaylowerunexpectedly.
Workingunderanunsupportedraisedbed
maycauseinjurytoyouorothers.
•Beforeservicingormakingadjustmentsto
themachine,parkthemachineonalevel
surface,engagetheparkingbrake,shutoff
theengine,andremovethekey.
•Removeanyloadmaterialfromthebed
orotherattachmentandinsertthesafety
supportonafullyextendedcylinderrod
beforeworkingunderaraisedbed.
Youwillneed2hydraulichoses,eachwithamale
andfemalequickcoupler,thattthemachine
couplers,toperformthisoperation.
1.Backanothermachineuptotherearofthe
disabledmachine.
Important:Themachinehydraulicsystem
usesDexronIIIATF .Toavoidsystem
contamination,makesurethatthemachine
usedtojumpthehydraulicsystemusesan
equivalentuid.
2.Onbothmachine,disconnectthe2quick-coupler
hosesfromthehosessecuredtothecoupler
bracket(Figure75).
