1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.Engagetheparkingbrake.
3.Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
4.Cleantheareaaroundthehigh-ow-lter
mountingarea(Figure73).
5.Placeadrainpanunderthelterandremove
thelter.
Note:Iftheuidisnotgoingtobedrained,
disconnectandplugthehydrauliclinegoingto
thelter.
6.Lubricatethenewlter-sealinggasketandhand
turnthelterontothelterheaduntilthegasket
contactsthelterhead.Thentightenit3/4turn
further.Theltershouldnowbesealed.
7.Fillthehydraulicreservoirwithapproximately15
L(4USgallons)ofhydraulicuid.
8.Startthemachineandrunitatidleforabout2
minutestocirculatetheuidandremoveanyair
trappedinthesystem.
9.Stopthemachineandchecktheuidlevel.
10.Verifytheuidlevel.
11.Disposeoftheuidproperly.
RaisingtheCargoBedin
anEmergency
Thecargobedcanberaisedinanemergencywithout
startingtheenginebycrankingstarterorbyjumping
thehydraulicsystem.
RaisingtheCargoBedusingthe
Starter
Crankthestarterwhileholdingtheliftleverinthe
Raiseposition.Runthestarterfor10seconds,then
wait60secondsbeforeengagingthestarteragain.
Iftheenginedoesnotcrank,youmustremovethe
loadandbed(attachment)toservicetheengineor
transaxle.

theHydraulicSystem
CAUTION
Araisedbedfullofmaterialwithouttheproper
safetysupportrodmaylowerunexpectedly.
Workingunderanunsupportedraisedbed
maycauseinjurytoyouorothers.
•Beforeservicingormakingadjustmentsto
themachine,parkthemachineonalevel
surface,engagetheparkingbrake,shutoff
theengine,andremovethekey.
•Removeanyloadmaterialfromthebed
orotherattachmentandinsertthesafety
supportonafullyextendedcylinderrod
beforeworkingunderaraisedbed.
Youwillneed2hydraulichoses,eachwithamale
andfemalequickcoupler,thattthemachine
couplers,toperformthisoperation.
1.Backanothermachineuptotherearofthe
disabledmachine.
Important:Themachinehydraulicsystem
usesDexronIIIATF .Toavoidsystem
contamination,makesurethatthemachine
usedtojumpthehydraulicsystemusesan
equivalentuid.
2.Onbothmachine,disconnectthe2quick-coupler
hosesfromthehosessecuredtothecoupler
bracket(Figure75).
