Note:
All configuration settings of a new Flight ID are set to their default values.
3.4.2.1.1 Flight ID Value
To configure the Flight ID perform the following procedure:
1. Select “FID” and press the rotary knob to start editing a Flight ID. The first character turns yellow.
2. Turn the rotary knob to change the value.
3. Press the rotary knob again to save the selected character. The next character turns yellow.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all characters (max. 8) are set to desired value.
5. Saving the 8
th
character will end the editing. If the Flight ID contains less than 8 characters then
enter a space as last character to end the editing.
Note:
After editing the changed value is not saved automatically! You have to select “Save” once all data have
been configured (see 3.4.2.1.4).
Enter the FID left-aligned, without any blanks or dashes
(!), e.g. DENWS for the marking D-ENWS.
A missing FID disables mode-S operation and A/C-
mode only will be engaged.
