the area.
Always ensure that the backrest extension has fully latched
into position before placing the unit back into operation.

switch. Support the backrest extension
and loosen all bolts and nuts. Remove
the lower bolts rst and then the upper
bolts. Lift backrest off unit. Always
follow your company's policy for lifting
objects to help reduce the risk of injury.
OPERATING CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS
LOAD CARRYING MECHANISM (cont’d)
OPTIONAL LOAD BACKREST EXTENSIONS (cont'd)
Tilt-Down Type
The tilt-down load backrest extension has a release handle located in
the middle of the backrest (as shown). This backrest extension only
pivots 35 and does not fully lower to the forks.
To lower or pivot the backrest extension down; fully lower the forks
and turn off the ignition switch. Then pull up on the release handle and
slowly pivot the backrest extension. This backrest extension has stops
which will hold it in the 35 position so the battery can be charged.
To place the backrest extension back into operating position; slowly
raise the backrest extension while holding the release handle until in
place on the unit's load backrest. Release the handle and ensure that
the backrest extension has latched into position and will not pivot or
move.
