Overview
A NetBackup 5240 4TB Appliance operates with up to four external storage shelves.
If your 4TB appliance has at least one storage shelf that is connected and running
properly you can add more shelves for a total of four shelves.
Adding storage shelves to a 4TB appliance that already has storage shelves differs
from the process of adding shelves to an appliance that has zero shelves. An
appliance with an existing shelf already includes sufficient components to support
more storage shelves. The following tasks are not required.
■ You do not need to turn off the appliance or any existing storage shelves.
■ You do not need to open the appliance chassis and install additional components.
■ You do not need to remove the appliance from the rack.
