1.
Visually inspection the camshaft for cracks and damage.
If
necessary, replace the camshaft.
NOTE:
If
the
dmnage is
slight,
you
may
be
able
to
correct
the
camshaft
with an oil soaked fine
emery
grindstone.
Take
special
care
to
not damage
the
original
cam
form.
2.
Inspect the camshaft journal and,
if
wearing exceeds the
limit, replace the camshaft.

a. Measure the camshaft journal diameter and the
camshaft support bore.
b. Calculate the clearance and replace the camshaft
or
cylinder head

the clearance exceeds the limit.
