Adjusting the chain tension
Slightly loosen the four fastening bolts on the
left and right dropouts.
Applies to US models only: Loosen the bolt of
the torque arm on the left chainstay a little bit.
Adjust the chain tension with the two adjust-
ment bolts on the left and right dropouts.
Turning the bolts clockwise tightens the chain,
whilst turning them anti-clockwise loosens it.
Never fully unscrew the tensioning bolts. When
making adjustments, make sure to loosen or
tighten the left and right adjustment bolts with
the same number of turns.
After loosening, push the rear wheel forward
in the direction of travel so that the dropouts
rest against the adjustment bolts.
