General Description
The MF series of machines is part of a range of multifunction SMS (Short Message Service) office
equipment.

The product consists of a color scanner with a resolution of 300 dpi and a black-and-white laser
printer with a resolution of 600dpi.
The documents to be processed are read by means of a sheet feeder scanner using CIS (Contact
Image Sensor) technology.
The control panel comprises:
• An alphanumeric keyboard and function keys used to control the machine.
• A display with 2 lines of 16 characters and a line of icons, to display control messages and
alerts to the user.
• A smart card reader used to initialize the consumables. It can also be used to store user func-
tions (directory and user parameters).
When replacing the machine, it is advisable to transfer the consumables (toner cartridge and
drum) and memory chip (from CPU PWB) to the new machine so as to keep the usage counters
valid.
When replacing the consumables, perform the installation procedure for the new consumable
item(s) (refer to the User Guide).
