2 Paper Misfeed Initial Actions RAP
WARNING
Switch off the electricity to the machine. Disconnect the power cord from the customer supply
while performing tasks that do not need electricity. Electricity can cause death or injury. Moving
parts can cause injury.
Description
• Initial machine checks when a paper jam occurs in the printer.
Note: Reset the misfeed condition by opening and closing the front door after the misfeed has
been cleared.

1. Does the paper meet product specifica-
tions?
1. Replace paper
2. Is the paper curled, wrinkled or damp? 2. Replace paper and instruct user of correct
paper storage.
3. Is the paper transport path deformed, dirty,
or obstructed with foreign matter?
3. Clean the paper path.
5. Is the roll dirty, deformed, or worn? 5. Clean the roll and replace if necessary.
6. Are paper guides at correct position to
accommodate paper?
6. Slide the paper guides up against edges of
the paper stack.
7. Does the paper feed switch operate cor-
rectly when checked?
7. Correct or Install a new switch.
